All community garden plots are now assigned and membership packages are en route to you!
Packages include:
- your membership card
- a plot map highlighting the location of your plot
- the rules governing the community gardens.
Please take a moment to confirm your name and assigned plot(s). If you feel there is an error – please reach out to the registrar at gaga@ncf.ca
Please note that the gardens are not officially open to members until they are plowed, staked and you have your membership card.
It is our expectation to have the gardens open before the May long weekend.
An announcement regarding an official opening will follow once the fields have been plowed and staked.
Straw available for purchase
We were asked at our AGM in early March if we could bring straw to the gardens this year as we had for many years in the past. Covid-19 restrictions prevented us from doing this last year, and gardeners were requested to pick them up themselves from Peter. Apparently though, some people didn’t have large enough vehicles to pick it up themselves. So we have spoken to our supplier, and he has agreed to accept payment through GAGA – he usually takes cash at the gardens in exchange for straw bales. Please note that the limit per gardener is 10 bales. Straw will be delivered to the gardens by or soon after mid-June. The instructions for ordering and paying for the straw is on our website at the following link:
