Compost delivery cancelled

The City of Ottawa has informed the Gloucester Allotment garden Association that compost will not be available for pickup at the Trail Road facility until at least mid-June. Due to the storm, the City has encountered delays getting the equipment to process the compost, and they are being inundated with tree branches from the cleanup after the storm. Because of the uncertainty of when compost will be available, GAGA has decided we will not be providing it for our gardeners this year. Staking volunteers needed!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR 24 VOLUNTEERS who will help with staking our Orient Park plots as soon as possible after the gardens have been tilled. We no longer need to operate under strict COVID protocols, so each staking team will have an extra member to make the work go easier. If you would like to work with a specific individual or individuals, please let us know in advance and we will make an effort to accommodate that within the teams. Membership package update

All community garden plots are now assigned and membership packages are en route to you! Packages include: your membership card a plot map highlighting the location of your plot the rules governing the community gardens. Please take a moment to confirm your name and assigned plot(s). If you feel there is an error – please reach out to the registrar at gaga@ncf.ca Please note that the gardens are not officially open to members until they are plowed, staked and you have your membership card. An announcement regarding an official opening will follow once the fields have been plowed and staked.
